On November 3rd, OSHA reported an accident involving an Ohio man whose crane’s safety latch failed and 1,000 pounds of equipment fell and injured him as he worked on the factory floor. Although these stories are all too common, it only underscores the importance of recognizing those companies that practice the long-term vision and importance of training and safety management.
Each year, The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety and whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary. There are only a handful of companies that earn these awards, but they are the ones that inevitably stand the test of time. A list of the companies that earned awards of excellence is available here.
Excellence in construction safety is a core value that successful companies understand – from the beginning and throughout any project. The investment in commercial construction safety is not only the right thing to do, but pays back on multiple levels.
Industrial, medical, governmental projects may all be different but they are alike in their investment of time, money and labor. At Diversified Safety Services, we become a part of this process of success, or as we like to say, “We’re the team that follows the team.”
The 2015 National Safety Excellence Awards will be presented on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 during the 26th annual Excellence In Construction Awards.
